A.L. (Al) Locker, Jr.
President
After graduating from Texas A & M University in 1974 with a degree in economics, Al joined the team at Turnkey, Inc., a family-owned, third-generation design/build construction company located in Houston, Texas. In 1983, Al became the President and continues to serve in that capacity.
The company has done work as a developer, builder, project construction designer & consultant, project & construction manager, and completed and/or sold residential and commercial projects. The variety of work also includes building two species-specific exhibits at the Houston Zoological Gardens.
In 1991, Al’s wife, Suzanne, purchased a pet lodging business; and after five years of operation, Al designed and built a new ground-up facility for them with updated systems and technologies. Since then, Al has taken an active role in providing existing and prospective pet care facility owners, guidance and services for feasibility, design, construction, and business planning. He has designed over 85 pet care facilities around the U.S. from 3,500 sf to 35,000 sf in size. Turnkey, Inc. has built 16 pet resorts and veterinary hospitals in the Houston area.
With his broad understanding of construction, as well as business and finance, Al has been a popular event speaker for several national associations across the U.S., including American Boarding Kennels Association, Pet Care Services Association, International Pet Boarding Services Association, and others. In 2008, Al was asked to be the Keynote Speaker at the Ausboard Conference in Caines, Australia. He has also written dozens of featured articles for pet industry magazines. Al has been actively involved for over 30 years in the pet industry and Co-Chaired the ABKA’s Facility Accreditation Committee to update the pet care industry standards for safe handling. Al is one of the nation’s most sought-after providers for business consulting and for creating business plans, project feasibility, demographics, site layout, and plan reviews for those clients looking to start a new business.
A.L. (Bubba) Locker, iii
Vice President
In 1998, after attending Blinn College in Bryan, Texas, and graduating from America’s Inspectors Institute, Bubba joined Turnkey, Inc. His experience working with Turnkey began years before, as he worked summers on construction sites, learning all he could about the industry. Since that time, he has served as Project Supervisor, Project Manager and currently is Vice President of the company.
Bubba is constantly developing new and better ways to work within today’s demanding construction budgets and deliver projects on time. He leads construction, contracting, and product procurement for Turnkey, Inc., delivering quality and value, as well as premier finishes…whether it’s a new build or remodel. Bubba is committed to providing quality service to every client, not only during the initial construction, but also in the years that follow. He listens closely to what each client needs, and what their budget limits are. This attentiveness has created many returning clients through the years, who appreciate his comprehensive understanding of their project, and trust that Turnkey, Inc. will deliver what they promise.
